TireSkates

Scale

This 100lbs. scale was used for a pull test of one 4 caster test skate. We had it calibrated by an engineering test lab.

Rock

We used 1500 lbs. of rock on a steel platform that we could swap casters on/off to test each manufacturer.

Don pulling

Here is Don, one of my workers, simulating what we did on each test (we pulled parallel to the floor in the actual test). We would shove the skate sideways to get all the casters aligned in one direction, then pull it at 90 degrees. The starting force and continuing pull force was recorded. The starting force is much larger because all the casters have to squeegee on the floor to get started in the right direction. Kind of like a car without power steering.
